Elizabeth "Bette" Short, aka The Black Dahlia, was born in Hyde Park, Massachusetts on July 29, 1924. When she was two years old, her family moved to 115 Salem Street in Medford, Massachusetts.
The house was taken by eminent domain in the 60's to make way for Route 93 and a plaque in her memory was installed across the street from the family home in 1993 by the Medford Historical Society.
Beth was murdered in a gruesome slaying in Hollywood in 1947 and after 60 years the murder appears to have been solved The Black Dahlia Avenger
